Default How much your boat is worth -other sources besides NADA and BUC?

Does anyone know if there are there any other guides or references out there that rate boats values besides NADA or BUC?

NADA is used in most cases so I hear?

Not sure if there are any others.

But I do have a question though not of great importance; do the BUC and NADA refernces apply to international sales? If not there must be European guides as well. Just curious if these are THE international and national books.

I had a Value and Condition Survey done on the AT, it came in way above what I paid. The value of anything consists of what someone is willing to pay and what you are willing to accept. What someone is willing to pay would be a more realistic price. BUC & NADA are ok baselines but should only be used as a baseline. I found they are high unless the item is in excellent condition. It is a buyers market now so you can ezpect some great deals buying and taking it on the chin when selling. A good surveyor may charge $10 a foot for both but maybe less for just value.

Just was't sure if there were any other sources that banks looked at for loan values other than these 2. A boat can survey very strong, but they seem to always fall back to NADA. Just checking to see if there were other bank approved sources for establishing a loan-to-value estimate. Thanks for the info.

I'd say if you really want an Idea of value look at all similar listings on OSO Classified, Boatrader.com and yachtworld.com in that order. I would also look at the main dealers for the particular brand you are looking for. That would give you the listing averages. Selling avg. will be lower.

NADA is used by the banks and other lending entities for their lending ratios and I have found that on the kind of boats I have always looked at, their evaluations has always tended to be on the high side compared to actual market but it is beneficial if you need to finance your rig.

I think BUC gives you a better idea, the NADA
