Salt Away
#1
Does anybody use this stuff? What do you think of using a so called salt inhibitor over just flushing with raw water. I just purchased a bottle and it ain't cheap, but what is cheap anyway (LOL) if it is going to help protect my baby its worth it, I just want an opinion if this stuff actually works or not.

MiamiVice,
Salt Away definitely works. It doesn't assure 100% corrosion resistance, but far better than fresh water alone. We've seen the results in our headers and aluminum engine components, as well as the lack of salt residue between dis-similar metals, (like our water outlets which are stainless) where they meet the intake plenum which is aluminum. Flush first with fresh, then run the salt away for the full dispensing cup and you'll see lots of soap suds in the exhaust discharge water. Shut down before the blue color in the dispensing cup goes clear, (1 minute +/-) so you leave the salt away in your components.
Take care
