I'm not an expert on boat racing but do know a tad,,,(well very little)..BUT..
what the hell is a "BED RACE"????? The following is a extract from the SBI schedule for July races in Sarasota...

You take a bed, put it on wheels, rollers, whatever, you have to have two (I think) people in it, four people pushing it, and they race down main st. The trophy is a plated bed pan. It's hysterical. Last year my local Public (grocery store chain down here) won it.
You can make a bed, do whatever. It's pretty funny. A lot of them end up in the crowd.
