Default Sw/fuel Pump Problem Need Help Asap

I just checked on my over heating problem and found out my belt came off my sw pump. This was caused by a major oil leak out of the pump. when I changed the impeller the pump didn't have any oil in it so I added some. I'm running an elec. pump not a mech. one. Do i need to replace the pump or can I run it w/o oil since I don't have a fuel pump on it? It doesn't seem to have alot of slop in the shaft. I guess my ? is are the bearings sealed or do they need this lubrication? Thanks.
