I received the following from Leeanne.........
Hello Everyone:
Wish I better news but Doug is being readmitted to Brick Hospital tonight. Today the infectious disease doctor made the decision to pull the port because no headway has been made against the staph infection after nearly 3 weeks of IV antibiotics. They also want to try some other drugs on him after surgery tomorrow. He is still suffering from high fevers and is weak.
The doctor said he would try to have Doug out of the hospital by the weekend but at this time it doesn't look promising. I doubt we'll be enjoying anyone's barbeque this year. But you never know, this is Doug we're talking about and he can be full of surprises, sometimes good ones, which would be a welcomed change.
I'll keep you posted as I learn more. As usual keep him in your prayers. If he is going to get well, he needs them more than ever. Thank you.
Leeanne
We all were together at a Bar-b-que on Saturday...... and Doug was wrapped up in set up details for a couple of 36 Skaters he is working on.....
Look up courage in the dictionary...and Doug's picture should be next to the definition.

I appreciate your updates. Even though I only met him one time at Skaterfest last year, he is quite remarkable. Even without these updates, I often wonder about him and wish and hope that he beats this thing.
