Well OSOer's
I guess the Key West trip wasn't good enough for me. I got a contract for Iraq. I looked for work in the states but no luck.
So I'm here for 60 days on and 2 weeks! I spent a week in Ammen Jordon while waiting for my accomodations. did some site seeing. A lot of biblical stuff here.
Finally got to Iraq on staurday. Were ahead of you guys by 9 hours here. We got escorted by security team to a place called safe house. We drive unmarked cars to blend in with the local population. The driver and the security guys has a mchine gun. They also have a chaser car that follows with 4 guys with machine guns and grenades. This is in case we break down or have other unforseen problems.
I will be going to the job site in Beigi on teusday. As luck would have it my dad is already working their. At least I'll have some one to hang out with.
I know you guys think I'm crazy, but this sure is a quick way to work on the 38TG I want to have one day.
BAJADAZE.........always told you I was a nut!
We have pretty good internet access over here. I'm an electrical engineer for those wondering what I'm dong over here. And NO,,,,,,the fiancee wasn't happy about this one!
Some encouraging comments from my fellow brothern would be appreicated!!
Enjoy the summer, it looks like I will be missing a little of it!!

Knock down the bucks and get your azz back here safe!
When I was younger I did some crazy work on the road stints, doing crazy chit that no one else would do, for that quick big cash to get some things I wanted. I am aware of the motivation to do such things. Only you (and yours) can decide if the compensation is worth the risk. Not an easy question to answer, especially considering the location. Don't take chances...err on the side of safety always. I look for you on the board researching a Top Gun purchase shortly!

Like Rippem said, err on the side of safety.
Like father like son huh? You guys both have balls of steel.
Sounds like you understand both the risks and the rewards. I think that's the difference between crazy and brave.
I hope that the risk ends up small and the reward is huge!
Keep us posted.

I understand the money deal...Clear Lake was fine when I was there Memorial Day weekend. Wreckers had not opened yet..it is now..heard good things. I'm still in Denver...where you are can't be too much worse than Saturday night in Baycliff or San Leon..at least you have palm trees!
Brenda says 'Hi!" and stay safe and careful!! and you know you better listen to her!
take care
