I am looking into a red 42 that was on ebay a few weeks ago - 1998 w/ twin side by side 502 mag efi with whipples - just installed 20 hours ago along with new standard bravo one drives - not x-series. What are the chances the drives will live and what do you think of the side by side configuration? Does anyone know this boats history?

I don't think the drives will make it, lotta boat, even for a Fountain. My Daytona had a chipped tooth at 60 hrs on the non x drive.

Those drives might fail before you leave the dock. Plan on replacement.
