Wireless Mouse and Keyboard
#1
I am trying to get my desk so that they only thing that is on it is the screen, keyboard, and mouse. That way when I have to lay out plans I can toss the keyboard and mouse off to the side. The PC now resides in a closet about 10 feet from the desk and the wires for the monitor and audio go up the inside of the wall, over the ceiling and down a wall (aprox run of about 35 feet or so. I purchased the Logitec Keyboard and it is working fine but the mouse is not working well at all. Does anyone know of a wireless set up that will work for a distance of say 15 feet?

Do you have a USB connection wireless mouse? Can you extend the USB cable for the mouse receiver over toward your desk, but not on it? Perhaps behind the monitor?

The Microsoft set works awesome from a distance BUT... keep a value pak of Duracell AA in your desk. You will get a warning of a low battery and they mouse will last about 3-days after the warning but the keyboard will only last a day after warning.

I have tried moving things around. I could run a USB up and over but I am not sure that they make a USB that is that long. I also tried moving the antenna around and the only place that it works is if I stretch it over the front of my equipment rack and put it on the book sheft next to the desk. I did some research and it looks like Blue Tooth is going to be the way to go with this one. Up to 30 feet away.... We shall see. The issue that I have is that the computer is now near a very large stereo equipment rack, and the monitor also tosses off quite a bit of interference..... So untell I can justify a flat panel monitor (They still do not look as good as my high end glass tube unit, but the Sony's are real close now at 2,000!!!!) This is going to have to do. I am going to try and get one of the Blue Tooth ones next week and see if it works.
