Dropping your tabs should actually slow your boat down, they will create more drag. Only exception to this would be if you are chine walking at all (bouncing side to side @WOT) however I usually don't hear a 29 doing that more of a 27 issue.
What rpm and prop are you running?? also what gps speed are you getting? Also what year is your boat? The knowledge of this board is geat, the more details you can give us the better advise we can give back.
Oh yea try tracking down your test sheet from Fountain, that should have your WOT settings and speed the day she came out the door.

my boat is a 2003 with the tabs all the way up i get 5300rpms running a 28 prop gps says 83-84 but trim down to 2 in 1-2 chop boat seems to run faster wondering if this is something anyone else has experinced trying to get the most out of the boat stock so i can decide on mods or not

A friend of mine has a 2000 29 with a 575 sci and he changed the blower pully and a 30 bravo. I think he has said the boat in rough water will run 86 on gps.
