My Buddy just COMPLETELY redid one and it came with cleaver style 3 blades on TRS drives . They SUCK !! What do you guys run ? He just has 454's probably under 500 hp. See my other post too (will bravo props fit TRS) .
He has mirage but don't know if it will fit ....I may have to take them down tomorrow , does anyone know if they fit? thanks

we ran with 3 blade 23" mirage props . Not enough . lots of slip and too many rpm's on top . I think we need to try some 4 blades with 26" or so ..... Anyone have something ? or any info on their boat ?

The Formula is pretty similar, also came with a set of terrible over-hub 3-B cleavers. I ran 23 Mirage 3B and 22 Bravo-1 4B. The 23 Mirage probably had a little over the 4B Bravo-1 on top, but the 4B had about 6 mph advantage at cruise.

Thanks Greg. My friend Grant is thinking he needs 26" ??? I think he may be in trouble with that idea .... But, I know him , he'll just use that as an excuse to increase power .

I had a 40 scarab with good running 400 Cyclones. Originally it had 23 Mirages but they slipped like crazy in the midrange. Gas milage was about .75 at cruise. Changed to 23 Hydromotive 4 blades and cruise went up 6 or 8 mph and milage went over 1 mpg. Don't use more than 23 pitch unless you go to superchargers.

My 1985 Wellcraft Excalibur Hawk 40 has 21p Mirage re-done by Houston propeller, the motors are 400 Cyclones with air-gap intakes and Demon carbs...has run 60 on GPS so far this season with a heavy load of fuel.....hope to improve on that when the fuel weight is reduced...the bravo props do fit the TRS drives.....Fred
