The world of Unlimited Hydros sounds kind of familiar.

State of the Unlimited Hydro world

Coopers attitude really sucks!!! For the past 4 years that I have been attending the unlimiteds at San Diego (20+ years) and Detroit (4 years) the BUD and others have had fuel flow limited in order to bring parity to the sport.

The fans were tired of what was expected "a Bud Parade"...Gary G brought parity back by his actions. Cooper and his U# are acting like a spoiled baby.

What Cooper actually had was many of the OLD TIMERS, yes my age, but not me, lusting to hear the NOISE of the old daze. The porch sitters battered the internet and Hydro-Prop begging for NOISE.

WE, the ones able to face the continual improvements in motor sports were only too happy to see competition resulting in deck to deck racing, but not some of the other "OLD TIMERS".

WELL, now it is the OLD TIMERS who are making the noise and KILLING the sport...

I heard several comments at St Pete when Spiderman ran off and left the rest of the field, "Well the race is over (only 2 laps were completed), lets go get sumtin to eat"

The offshore may have it's problems but at least it is NOT about NOISE, or, at this time, parity.

I already have reservations for the Worlds at Key West.. Any other takers??

Disclaimer: Since I have had my AARP card for a few years, I have the right to take on those younger OLD FARTS killing the greatest spectacle in motor sports, BOAT RACING in general..

See ya in Key West...

I'm with you Marc, when the racing day is over...get to The Jersey Boyz Pit for some Salami and Mozz with a nice tomato, red onion and olive oil salad.

Unlimiteds are great because they are a single class, yet with less than 10 boats and million plus entry fee to get a new boat on the water, how long can it really last?

I would suggest that anyone near Detroit take in the 100th anniversity they are having next weekend. It ought to be a blast and maybe the last for a while.
The way the internal strife is eating up entries and venues is just , well, sickening.

The state of the Unlimited only emphasizes the great step that OFFSHORE has taken with the the various groups and more importantly, promoters, drivers & crews working and playing together.

I personnaly thank all of you for bringing so much enjoyment to so many of us fans.

It almost appears like Bernie Little was holding the whole thing together. At least he was the reason Bud put up the money all those years.

It's a shame, unlimiteds are so extreme and fun to watch.
