a unit of some type that goes inlinr before my oil cooler with a thermostat and a bypass. i have a procharger setup and under hard running my oil comes up to a good temp but just cruising it is like 170. i want to fing some sort of oil thermostat that would stop water flow through my oil cooler until it reached the right temp. i have a large oil cooler and maybe it is to big. ideas?

I bought my oil cooler from C.P. performance,it came with a thermostatic bypass valve that allows oil to bypass cooler until its up to temp, works real good. They have a online catalog,if you can't find it online, call their tech line and ask for scott,he is a excellent tech and will know exactly what you need,Smitty

Hardin Marine also has oil coolers with thermostats. Hardin has a few they say are good for engines from 700 hp to 1000 hp. I just got one good to 700 hp from TooOld - Trick Marine.
Check CP, Hardin or other similar places. I'm sure you can find a thermostat that can be plumbed into/added to the system. You might try where you bought the cooler you have now.

502procharger, I see your from Oswego. You could call Stern Drive Specialists in Constantia and run your problem by Chris Martin. 315-623-7642. He may have a tstat set up in stock that will work for you.
