High Speed Insurance Out of Hand!
Ok, I own a 42 Outerlimits w/ a Pair of 1200s. I'm really not enjoying the fact im paying now, 15k a year for half asked insurance. I cant get the deductables and they want 30K! Incase something happens next year or they're dropping me. This is redicilous. I love this sport, but I might be getting out of it soon enough due to the insurance killing it. I have no accidents or anything on my record, squeaky clean..
It's a monopoly and it was hard enough getting insurance for this thing. I've been doing this for along time and it's too bad that I might have to get out of the sport. I don't know about anyone else, but I think we all share the same opinion. And not to say anything negative, but it's seriously these inexperienced cat drivers with too much money to spend doing 185+ and killing themselves...I've heard of more than one story killing insurance companies, and it's ruining it for everyone else. Anyone agree?
****, most of the time, i cruise my boat at about 85-95mph....a blast to 120 is nice, but ****, between gas, insurance, maitenance...I could buy another OL!...Cmon we should ban together! Oye, that felt better...oh wait, time to write another check for my hole in the water that isn't even in yet... ;(

OH I LOVE IT! NO high Ins. is a huge plus
Plus I can party with 6-8 people on there without stepping on them. it's nice at night to turn the A/C on a hang out. NO regrets at all.

Does anyone know the death rates among fishing boats vs cruisers vs speed boats ? Then I wonder how much time the person has behind the wheel, with and without booze in them

The war between outerlimits and fountain are the reason you will see your rates go up.Their advertising blitzs are putting a bullseye in the eyesites of the insurance underwriters who read our boating magazines and as such you people who own these two brands of boats are going to see your rates go higher than everybody elses.
