Palm Beach 311 in Classifieds
#1
Have you guys seen the Palm Beach 311 for sale in the classifieds? Nice looking boat, talked to the owner, went for a ride, had it surveyed and ... bought it. It's home now in Michigan and I've had it out a couple times - runs great. The seller needs to change his ad to "SOLD".
A couple questions:
The only gauge that doesn't work is fuel. I'm assuming it's the sending unit and is a dealer part - anybody have a part number?
Apparently they don't come from the factory with external tie bars. (A couple different boats I looked at didn't have one.) Where's a good source for a tie bar and what's the distance between the outdrives?
I have been looking for almost a year for the right deal and I think I found it. Thanks for all the advise you guys offered during my search.

Drive spacing is 34 1/2", I think I got mine from Eddie Marine. You'll find that the guys in C/S @ Formula are great, they can answer almost any question regardless of the age of thier boats. I didn't see the boat in classified, must be gone. is it an 89? If all original you can probably expect to replace the trim/tab indictor cables, drive rez (go with the square bottles!) and maybe the trim pumps over time. great boat, enjoy!

I think the guys who run this site posted a message that all posts from Monday were going to be lost. She really does appear to be an all original '88. I'm sure things will break as I start using her but for now the only non-functioning part is the fuel gauge. Here's a picture in front of the sellers house ...
