How does the newer stepped hull 47 handle the bigger water, 4 footers and over?

It will do an honest 85-87 mph on the GPS. With the right conditions a 90 could be possible. My 01 shows 85 on the speedo (500's) but the GPS will only show 80-82. Another 75 HP should be good for a few mph.

It says 85. They go by the speedo, which I do too as far as bragging rights. I've got a hand-held Garmin GPS. When I compare it to the speedo the speedo reads slower up to around 50mph. They both read the same up to around 70-75 then the speedo starts reading faster than the GPS. So I guess I don't know for sure which is more accurate. I just assume the GPS is. Anybody else compare? I have the Gaffrig liquid filled water pressure type speedo. Reads off the center drive speedo hole in the Bravo drive.

Thank you for the question regarding the 47'. The 47' is a tremendous boat that runs great in 4' water. The honest speed is 90mph all day on Lake Michigan with 300 gallons of fuel and six adults. I have seen as much as 93mph with two people and 1/2 tank of fuel.
Our current 47' is optioned with triple 525, Gen/AC/Heat,, Stove, Sink, Complete Head & Gear. Boat is very impressive in many different ways. Feel free to call with any further questions
