Cool 7.4 MPI Procharger ?

I have a 7.4 MPI I would like to put a Prochager in it. I have been told that this motor cant handle a Procharger.. DOes anyone have any input???

Ive seen guys with procharged 7.4's,they just don't have real heavy duty rods&pistons so don't get crazy with the boost (i think procharger says 4-5 psi),Smitty

They will handle 5-PSi as long as you keep the RPMs below 4800

500HP @ 5psi/ 560HP @ 7psi thru-hull exhaust needed.

I have been told that the vortec heads on the Gen 6 7.4MPI are not good for superchargers. The point of the heart shaped combustion chamber becomes red hot and burns holes in the cast pistons.

I guess thats why they say "thru-hull exhaust needed"
