Default 05 FORD 2.5" RECEIVER, PULLING 16k

I picked up my 05 ford which came with a 2.5" receiver and a insert for using a 2". Does anyone know of 2 or 2.5 receivers which are rated for towing more then 12000 lbs. My boat trailer and fuel are almost 16000 lbs.

I suspect you are right on the 12k thing, unless reese Titan is more. That said, I've got a 3" drop reese titan ballmount bought new in march, I used once, available for $25 (cost over $50) it's 2.5 x 2.5" without any sleeves or adapters.

Yes F-350 short box, crew, DRW, PSD. Put the edge 5 chip in it and headed 500 miles South to LOTO for the week last week. Pulled great in postion #2 tow mode. Got 10 mpg vs 5 mpg with my 01 V-10. In postion #5 (Extreme) its an additional 115 hp and 290 ft of additional torque. Can not beleive the power. Only down part of the trip was someone stole my receiver sat. night out of parkview, so when the 25 of us ( 5 boats ) got up Sun at 6:00 to hook to our trailers my receiver was gone. Five hours later we found a 10K receiver. Made for a long tow home (500 miles) wondering if my receiver was going to break.

Any pics on this new truck? Any sheet metal differences? I can't believe someone stole the insert. I've left my boat at the state park at LOTO overnight with my $5000.00 Rolla props x2 on my boat and noone stole them luckily. Is there anywhere safe anymore?

Egts on stock mode never went over 1100 on stage 2 (tow) they did get up to 1300 on a few long hills, buy lifting for 2 seconds they would drop right back. Normal towing they were running around 900-1000. In stage 5 you can build temp. pretty fast. I never tow or normal drive over stage 3.

JC, Where is your exhaust probe mounted ? In the manifold or the pipe after the turbo ? I hope you have a good air filter and exhaust to use that system . I am surprised it got that hot on the lower settings . What you should do (if you didn't) is run it around (empty) on high power for a few days ,but drive it VERY VERY easy . That way the computer has a chance to adjust and get used to this added power . They seem to work better after that on the fords .

SO ,what are the differences in the new trucks ? Interior ,exterior etc ? Got any pictures ? Thanks ,Joe
