Is anyone running electric water pumps rather than the standard, belt driven pumps and if so, how's it going. I've had electric oil pumps for pre and post lube on turbo motors, but am thinking about a combination of electric water pump for idle speeds and after a boat reaches XX MPH, force feed would take over with a combination of variable orifaces and pressure relief valves. Anyone been there yet?

I asked my engine machinist what he tought... he said the electric ones that are in the crossover are strictly drag race....and aren't designed for continuous duty.... I'd like to find some that are... anyone else?

Reed, yes there are water pumps that run for years and years. I don't how much power they consume, but pump wear won't be the problem, just size and volume. The rest of the controls would be mechanical such as thermostats and pressure relief valve. anyone?
