Does anyone out there know of anybody who repairs Bravo 1's. I have four blown drives that need rebuilding. I blew 2 a couple of years ago and just blew my new ones up as well. I live in nj but will ship them out if the price is right.

"Mr. Gadgets" (Dick Tryce) does them. He has all the correct tooling and mics everything and blueprints them for assembly. He builds and maintains the Bravo drive for the "Great Lakes Castor" race boat that took #1 in their class in the World's last year with no drive failures----intrestingly enough it is only a standard Bravo One drive and they only rebuilt it once during the race season last year. This year they are 1st in national points. The boat is a 28' V hull with a single 509 inch 750hp engine that spins to 6400-6800rpm.
Dick rebuilt & blueprinted my XR's. He lives in Michigan near Douglas/Saugatuck about 5 miles away from the Skater factory. I'd say he's at least worth a phone call. 616-335-8446

Yes I build them, but my turn around time is not short. I take my time and measure the case and align the gears for proper lash. I use Imco's ridgid pinion system also. I also have a day job, with a 100mi drive one way that does take up a lot of my time. But I would be interested in talking to you about them.
Another source closer to you is Sterndrivespec. He is in NY. 315-623-7642..
