Default what would cause?

the port motor tach to jump a little with the rpms at and around 4k. motor sounds and runs fine, but the tach whats to jump. ps 2002 500efis with 11 hours. could it be the computer or the tach. thanks in advance scott

Look for a plug or coil wire that is too close to the tach signal wire. Trace it and if you find it is too close you need to relocate it or insulate it.

Check the tach ground wire too.
