Default ZZ572 GM Crate motor

In this months Hot Boat they discused a 28 Eliminator cat with two of thies motors that workedout very well. My question is has anyone tried them in a larger/heavy boat, and are there any issues with getting on plane. Sounds like a nice package (620 HP) that is very reasonably priced.

If you want the specs. ont this motor (Gen VI tall deck, 9.6:1 compression) call Pace Performance at 888-748-4670, they are a GM Performance Parts dealer. This motor can be ordered from GM Perfromance Parts dealers from what I understand. This motor does have aluminum cylinder heads, so keep salt water boating in kind if that is the case. I have not yet seen this motor myself, but I doi like the package.

Jim,

I've heard these motors work well with a cam change and valves replaced with severe duty intake and Inconel exhaust valves. Know any good high-performance marine engine builders in our area who could do the work?

soo . . . lemmie get this straight . . . .you'll have a couple'a extra big blocks laying around after the swap . . . hmmm . . . . will those fit in my scorpion

but seriously that would be a nice pakage for your sonic. those motors are pretty sweet. and best of all 100% new GM assembled units. very nice for the $$.

Too Much Money!!
Why would you spend that much (almost 8 grand) for Just a short block with no cam, pan or oil pump? Jeggs,Summitt,Bill Mitchell Or most engine builders will all give you a better deal than that.Plus you can have it build to the specs that would best suit you!! The complet engine, Mayve not to bad of a deal if you can use it like it is..
Just something for you to think about before jumping!!

That is what I'm trying to confirm. If it could be a drop in peice I think it might we worth it. If not, no. I don't want any more than 600 horse. I am a BIG fan of reliability.
