Default Best head gaskets and bearings for BBC

I think I blew the outboard head gasket on the starboard motor. Too late in the season to try to fix it, so I am just going to yank both motors and rebuild them for next year, besides the working hour meter shows 576 hours and I think the moptors may be original. The motors are 454's with twin turbo's, intercoolers and wastegates set at 10 lbs. The blocks are low compression versions of LS-6 motors. I am going to put in new pistons (7.75-1) and possibly a hyd roller cam, the rest will just be good heavy duty parts, (new rod bolts, main bolts, head bolts) What is the best head gasket considering I'll be running around 10 LBS of boost and what bearings should I use?

Thanks
Pat Hughes

Performance Gasket makes the best marine stuff, Bob is a retired gasket engineer from Victor if I remember correctly. Cometic also has been very impressive with their stuff lately. With boost applications I would recommend an H-series clevite that has been coated. Bearing coatings are just cheap insurance against catastrophic failures.. .especially in boosted applications.

You may want to look at coated pistons also. They will make more power with your application.

I run Cometic MLS head gaskets with 10lbs boost. I pulled One head off
chasing a problem. When I reassembled I reused the Cometic.
Works like a champ!!
