Is there a big difference in ride? If so,,is it a noticeable big difference? I'm shopping for a 35 Cafe or 38 Top Gun. I know the used market shows there is not a real big difference in price. I know this depends on engine and drive package. I'm shopping for between a 91 to 96.
How is the ride between the two. They are both heavy boats and wave crushers. I'll be shopping when I get back from Iraq.
Not sure if there is an old thread on this or not.
How bout' some help Cig guys.
Thanks,
Shawn

Both are fine boats, but 3 feet is 3 feet (or in this case 2'6" since 38 Cigarettes's are actually 37'6". They both run great in the rough but the 38 is better.

I love my Cafe am very happy with it's performance and ride characteristics...but...
I've run both and I'd have to agree that the 38 edges the 35 slightly only due to that extra length...and with similar power and dirves they will actually run the same speed...so if I were looking at both boats in the same price range, I would buy the Gun. The Gun will resell at a higher number and is still more desireable than the Cafe.

Sean and OC are acurate about the ride.
A Cafe will be cheaper all other stuff being equal. Which means when you come to sell it more people will have access to purchasing it. Mind you everyone wants a Cigarette and once that's setup they want a Top Gun!

Most people who buy a Cafe Racer buy a Top Gun or in GL's case a Tiger. Gary bought a T/S Top Gun & Kevin bought a T/S Top Gun.
I've been in a Fiberglass Top Gun (96), a Kevlar Top Gun (92), and my Carbon Fiber Top Gun (91) - there is quite a difference.

I'm looking for the best ride with power being secondary. Minimum of 500HP and hydraulic steering.
Lucky not too sure about the boats with trannies. Heard good stories about your boat as well as ones with trannies. Thats just something else that has a possibility of breaking. Trying to cut it down to engine outdrive.
Of course Lucky Strike , a great deal on Cig thats a lil' older and cleaner could sway my decision!
