I'm hoping there is a fellow member with autocad that could do me a favor. I have a very small drawing file that is in version 2004. I only have v14 at home. Is there a member out there that could back save this file for me? The file has several small blocks in it that may be 3d. These would also need to be back saved so they would be compatable. I'm not sure if the e-transmit will do this automatically. It proably does. Please send me your e-mail addy to [email protected]
BTW-are there any members out there that have upgraded to a newer version of auotcad and are looking to sell their past version? 2000i or even 2004 would be grand. The books are not necessary, but no student versions please.

I feel your pain, Cord. I run into this dilemma myself quite frequently. I only have R-14 myself. Some of the "educated" engineers I have to deal with can't figure how to use the "save as" box and switch it to R-14 version. With my other 3D software, I save stuff for people like you as a *.dxf file so you can open in any version of AutoCad.

I've got every version up thru 2004, but my guys keep the R14 chugging along for the most part. We only use the newer versions for back converting like you are talking about.
3D, we do in other stuff and IGES back into Mechanical Desktop.
Good old R14 is a good package.
