Default Thermostat And 502 Mpi

I have a 502 MPI and I believe it has a 160 degree thermostat, does anyone know if I can use a different thermostat?

No, if you use a 143 degree thermostat ( from a carb engine) the computer thinking the engine hasn't warmed up yet will run the engine rich using more gas/dirty transom.

Why do you want to use a different stat ?

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about changing it because it seems to run 180 or so. Just thought it might help.

thanks
