525SC Blower Pulley

Anybody know where I can get a smaller blower pulley to pull more boost?

teauge marine has smaller pulleys they supply for your splined pulley set up. But they only reccomend using with a chiller. Also Nickerson carb sells them. Think they r 2.5" I think. I have an extra set of these. I can measure them if you want. They did add about 3 lbs of additional boost. The little weinands sounded like they were gonna spin right through the hatch so i took them off. Lots of additional heat and ware on the motors. Unless u have chillers? However they added about 400 r's. I will only use them in fall and spring when the air is cool.

Someone makes a kit which has intercooler, smaller pulley, etc, 80 real hp gain. I cannot remember who makes it for the life of me right now.

7 or so lbs of boost is it. Those little blowers loose adibiatic efficiency bigtime at those blower speeds. 7 lbs only with a chiller, or the extra boost takes you no where with the loss of efficiency (heat). Seen this done to 525SC's on a former buds boat with chillers, it was effective. Done the right way, you do pick up some power, and the "paper bag full of mad bumblebees" sound from that little blower turning so fast is pretty cool! It's amazing that they stay together. If the blowers aren't low time, I'd have em looked at before spinning 'em like that. I personally have had blower schrapnel through an engine before...not good!

Be careful spinning those weinand blowers to hard. The older ones on the 525sc's are actually better than the new ones built by holley on the 575sc's.. Intercooler is a good idea also so that when they blower rotors swell and touch, that alluminum will not go through the motor.

I have a set of smaller pullies that were on my 525's, I had to rebuild the motors after 125 hrs. Not a good idea with out intercoolers. If you get them tuned right there is not much that will out run them unless you are running with the BIG BOYS. And smaller pullies won't help any way. PM me if you want to spin these smaller pullies.
