Default Offshore Racing Edition Dually?

Hi:

Is there an offshore racing edition GM dually complete with tow package etc? I seem to remember a thread a while back about it but can't find it.

I think you might be thinking about a rebate GMC was giving. For a couple G's off of the truck you ordered, They would put some GMC Pro Grade Series decals on the truck. It was a corporate discount so it just came off the best dealer price you could get. Still available I think if you are looking to buy a new GM truck.

Thanks gmhdfan, great to know! The deal I recall hearing something about was an "offshore racing package" where they stuck some boat racing decals/emblems for their new marine motor on your truck as well as offering a complete trailer package as part of the deal.

It is not likely I will be buying a new truck, but I believe the racing "option" thing was last year, so I'd like to find those used.

That's the one I was talking about. You get the voucher from GM and pick out the truck of your choice. The rebate comes off of the best deal you can make with the dealer. Last year they were pushing the 8.1 motor, but my understanding this year they are pushing the Duramax also. Bill @ Hi Tech Marine (trailers) has the info to pass on to GM. I don't think you will find any used ones yet, because those people are still competing to win the money GM put up to the teams that are hauling with a GM truck.

I think you may be thinking about the "Cigarette" truck you could have ordered from the Cig factory. Cig logos stiched intot he seats, had a humidor, picknik table, and all sorts of other goodies inside the truck. I thin they even did a HP upgrade tot he BB that pumped out something like 400hp......it was a company out of NY that was doing the conversion if memory serves me right.

I would like to find more info on this package too. I heard about it last year, but I have no interest in an 8.1 gas motor.
If they will let you spec a duramax, that changes things.
Anyone know more specifics?

Yeah, I was hoping for a "package" duramax also, looks like there are not any used ones out there.

I don't want to spring for a new one since that is about how much the boat gobbles up every year...kinda like torching a new dually every year for fun. Humm, I really must be boat sick/addicted. <gg>

I just bought an '05 Ford powerstroke dually, and I didn't pay too much more than a lot of guys are asking fot couple year old used ones. They make SO much money on these trucks there seems to be a lot of wiggle room on the prices.

I don't know if this is the same company that was mentioned above, but there is a company offering a Cigarette edition suburban. Click on the link below. Then, from the main page click on "showroom." From the showroom page click on the "Cigarette On-Shore" tab at the bottom of the page.
