999 is the price. They finally seem to be getting them in stock at stores. Make SURE you go through the entire set up proceedure or you will have problems with it. They work extreamly well. They still do not have decreet IR or RS-232 for control but other then that I have no complaints. I have installed about 15 of them and had 2 bad ones.

I just use Time Warner HD-DVR. I have been able to load a lot of HD shows on it and have plenty of space left.

Since I use cable, Im waiting on the HD model. In a dream world I hope it comes with 2 tuners, and good connections (DVI) etc.

I have a Sony two tuner Directv and TIVO box. I have decided not to do the HD yet due to the limited number of HD channels.

They have activated the DVI output on the dvr and non dvr Motorola boxes.

Most people that I have installed them for use them for the games (NFL). There will be a substantial amount more programming this year as the "deadline" draws closer.

When do you think they will make one that can record HD, or at least pass the signal thru.

My wife and I are addicted to our tivo. I tried the DVR from Time warner, could not stand the search feature, it was almost useless.

Yahoo: Do you mean for Cable? Or Satellite? The Hughes unit is for Satellite. It gives you the ability to record two different streams at once and watch a recorded show, watch one and record another and so on. It does record in TRUE HDTV format or in standard def.

As for Cable I would not hold your breath. As from what I understand there are copy protection issues that will be a while for them to figure out. We are having enough problems with the DVI and HDMI standard in this industry as it is and that is with out using things to record (the very thing that these two standards were created to prevent)
