I've been looking at a 33 daytona with extension boxes and shorty's,I drove the boat in calm water and it had a nasty porpus about 80 to 90 mph and smoothed out a little after,is this common? does it go away in chop?I recently owned a 28 daytona and did not experience this although I;ve heard these 33's do this it felt un comfortable in calm water thanks please help, Len

porpoise issues can usually be addressed through prop and set up changes. Drive trim also has a lot to do with porpoise. Some step bottom boats have a tendency to porpoise gently, it has to do with the speed, drive trim, and props.

The easiest way to start to address the problem would be to try some different props and see what happens. If you have questions or would like more information give us a call.

I have ridden in a 30 and a 33 Daytona where this same thing occurred. If both instances it was due to the drive indicators being a little off (2+-). When the drives were not at the same angle it caused it to porpose at slower speeds in calm water. Both boats had the drives Sync'd Correctly and the problems went away. I am now in the process of fixing this on my buddies new 28 with Twin HP500's The drives are perfect until 2, then the port drive indicator stays at 2, and the starbord drive indicator keeping going up.

Just an Idea!!

There are a few 33 Daytona's running around Havasu. From what I have personally heard from their owners is that this boat does have a pretty bad porposing problem.

Around 80-100mph, porpose can scare the sh&t out of you, forget that.

I would think a monster tab would fix this problem? Thank god my 29 doesn't porpose.

I heard that the old 30 porpoised. Eliminator just retooled the mold in the last 6 months.

No real information....it's been for sale for quite a while. That's about all I know. Pretty good price for the size of boat.
