Default KY / IL Speeding Ticket Question

Start: My Dad got a ticket in a rental car in KY the other night for 74 in a 55. Just speeding, not reckless.

First, he would like to take a Defensive Driving Course (maybe On-line) to help alleviate the ticket if he can. Does anyone know if KY (Louisville Airport Area) does this?

Second, has anyone gotten a ticket in KY with an IL license, to know if these two states transfer ticket records and points between them?

He has a Vette he keeps in the garage most of the time, and with his age, 64, he is a bit worried about insurance jumping.

Thanks in advance.

Brian

Call the court, and see if they will allow driving school to keep points off your record. I never seen it save you any money (they really just want the money in most cases), but at least you can keep your insurance down. Usually, you take the driving course, and send the paperwork to the court to clear the ticket.

Bryan, There should be a Tel. # on the Ticket that you can call the Local Court House. Surely they should be able to answer any Questions that you have.

As far as I'm aware IL does not use a points system. If we do it's news to me

When I got my ticket out of state, it did not appear on my local record. The insurance company did find it though. Took them almost a year to catch it.

I know IL and IN swap records, will all the folks that live in NW IN, and commute to the city, its a sure bet. However, I am not sure about the southern side. Thanks for all your help, and we'll see what happens.
