6500.00 for not having a navigation rules book
1100.00 for my life ring being out of date
6500.00 for my fireboy not being serviced with the last 6 months
6500.00 for being short one fire extinguisher

If i provide proof / receipts the fines should be dropped, these are the maxium fines for these violations. trust me on this one the coast guard got my attetion this was all on my sea ray.

Yep, I got one of those too........ I'll see if I can dig it up and post. Mine was for a max of $8,000.00 if I remember right for running through a no wake at a high rate of speed, no running lights, endangerment to life, body and limb, max HP of vessel exceeded, etc... All because I got smart with the officer that pulled me. Almost cost me a DUI but I got the Coast Guard down to $600.00 and the Marine Patrol ticket was $300.00. All because I didn't want to show him my safety equipment....young and dumb !!!! Dave

I think they show the max to scare you and make you realize just how much your life is worth and much more.

I do a courtesy board on my sport-fish with the coast guard once a year just to keep thing up to date and they give you a sticker for your boat. This way then they stop you
you can show them your courtesy board sticker and they will leave you alone
