Check out "Gain 8-10 mph in 28 TD daytona with 496 ho's". I'm getting pretty good feed back. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=91570

Don't go too crazy. When the horsepower goes up, so does the fuel consumption.
Often reliability drops with horsepower increases too.
I'm not trying to discourage you, just think you should be aware.
Good Luck
Oh yes. Have you considered a lab finish propeller or a bottom blueprinting?

I would listen to Ed. I would try props first. Maybe the 5 blade hydromotive. I've heard they work well, and you might get a few mph's out of her that way. We had a customer try one on one of our 30' Y2K's. Claimed to get 3 mph on top end. Also you can try blueprinting the hull ( rear 6' or so). I've done that to a customers boat, and he saw a 4 mph gain at wot. If you go with blueprinting, MAKE SURE the place knows what their doing. If your looking for bow lift, you might consider putting in a slight rocker in the bottom.
Our 30' Superboat Y2K will do around 75 with a 496. Around the same speed as yours. The hull we have in the mold now is going to be blueprinted with a rocker when we pop it out. With a 5 blade hydromotive prop and the rocker, we're hoping to see around 80.
