Any Baja Owners in Ct?

Hi all,
Just checking to see if there are any other Baja owners in Connecticut on OSO. We boat with a half dozen or so Baja's here and are always looking for more.

Mostly Ct river to Long Island Sound. We run to Block Island, Greenport LI, and down the sound to Manhattan. One of my friends is in Enfield Ct and another just over the line in Mass near Holyoke I think. They both have Baja's and make most of the trips we do. My friend in Mass just bought an 03 275. Where do you boat?

We live just off a very small lake in Webster, Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg, where we go during the week or when we don't have a lot of time to travel. We do trips Lake Winnipesaukee, Hudson River, Lake Michigan (Chicago) and IL River, Kentucky Lake KY, and Florida. I would really like to try the CT River, but have been leery because I did not know anyone who really knows the river. I would assume there are shallow spots and would be good to go with people with experience with the river. I grew up boating on the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers, which I really enjoyed but you really had to know the water and stay in the channel. I assumed the CT river was shallower and not as traveled as say the Hudson?

Im about an hour from Webster. In SE Ct. The Ct river is pretty easy to navigate. Very well marked. Its a nice ride down river to the Sound. I use a marina in Chester that has an awesome ramp and the cheapest gas prices on the river. Also, there is a Baja poker run on Lake Winnie every year. All baja boats. Great time. You can find info about it on www.teambajamarine.com. Its rumored to be the last weekend of July this year. We are definately going. Let me know when you want to go to the river. I'd be happy to show you the way. I'm out almost every Fri, Sat, and Sun.

I have missed the last two Baja runs up in NH, that looks like it would be fun. I'll definitely take you up on the offer, I would like to spend some time on the river this year. Plus it helps know a good launch ramp. When do you usually start going out in the spring?

Weather permitting we try to get out in April. The only problem is all the junk in the river from rain/snow melting etc. So, that early in the year we take it real easy on the river and head to the sound. You should head to Winnie for the poker run if you can. It's an incredible time.
