The new mills will be sneaking up on 600hp each depending on how things look when we start. I am wondering if any body is running similar power in a 311 and what are you using for props? Realistic speed? Thanks -Dustin

Our older 311's seem to respond well to Hydromotive Quad IV's. They are a stern lifting prop and our boats are real azz heavy with a low X demension. The Quad IV's are a stern lifting prop and by getting the azz up it reduces drag a lot. I picked up 7 mph at cruise and 3 mph top end (gps) just by changing from my original Mirage props.
Next year barring any catastrophic health issues like this year I want to stuff a couple of 625's in Outlaw.
Dialed in I would think you'd see mid 80's.

ThirdBird,
Not stock power, 530 HP turning the 26 pitch props 5300-5400 rpm on the 311. I had two sets of props and kept the QIV' s when I sold the boat. I was going to keep them as spares for the 382, but decided to sell them and use the bravo props that came with the 382 as spares and buy new props, possibly five blades.

I ran 645 H.P. Sterlings in my 311. 28 bravos @ 5000 or 27 Mirages @ 5200 should get you right at 80 m.p.h. My H.P. doesn't peak until 5900, so there was still more speed in it with some tweaking. I still have the 27 Mirages if you are interested in them.

Thanks for the prop offers guys. I will wait to see what I actually end up with motor wise before pulling the trigger on props. We need to get em torn down and see what is going to fit in my budget. Hopefully 80mph is in the budget, but then I should add steering too.

So if I go from my 454mags to 502's I would gain 3 mph ? Makes me feel better
