Default Which Eagle Crank???

Which Eagle crank for a Gen V block(4.25 Stroke,6.385rods) with 1pc rear main? It looks like they have a regular weight with 2pc rear main which would take an adapter. Or is what they call the lightweight with the 1pc ok for marine use? Crossdrilled or not?

I would suggest an American made crank, Crower, Callies, who ever, I looked at
three of those Gen 5 cranks everyone of them needed to be ground for the bearings
to work. I would use the Mark 4 with an adapter in case you ever want to upgrade
to an after market block. If you use the Eagle rods get the bolt upgrade.

I am a WD for Callies, A dragon slayer 4340 BBC runs about 800. plu change. Also they just came out with a better priced crank called Comp Star I will need to call for price ,but my rep said they will be competitve with the Eagle.

Dont get the crossdilled, ................on the one piece crank, It requires more weight added to the counter weight (for Internal balance) or you can run a weighted flywheel, which still may require more weight due to the heavier con rods. You can use either cranks. Spend 100.00 for the adapter or 100.00 for the special balance. Check your flywheel because that might be the deciding factor.

Go for the Callies crank. They are better quality than Eagle.

i spoke to several reputable engine builders nd they all agreed that eagle cranks have a LOT of quality issues. the eagle rod are fair but spend a few more dollars and get manleys or another american made. its worth the extra money to buy top shelf bottom end components. the calles dragon slayer cranks shouldn't cost a whole lot more than the eagle. just my .02, ratman
