Thumbs up P-5 cl*** racing

Im very interested in getting involved in racing. I used to drag race cars , I got out of that about four years ago and bought a boat two years ago. I thought it would be more fun for family, but the need for speed and to compete just wont go away. I bought 04 sunsation 288 and was wondering with some work could I be competetive and is that the best way to get started. Any help or feedback would be much appreciated

Kil,
A 28' Sunsation won the P5 championship a few years ago (2001) in APBA. "Wild Rose" was very competative even when it was powered with a 502 415 horsepower, later the power was upgraded to a 500 hp. The boat was a bone stock pleasure boat and ran for several years, I hear "Wild Rose" may come back again to race this year.

I've got a 24' Sunsation Raceboat for sale if your interested, 468 chevy, Aluminum float on trailer, new Bravo I, $15,000. or will seperate engine/drive or hull.

First thing I would do is go to APBA-offshore.com and Superboat INternational.com and read the rules and check out the schedules. Those are the two national organizations. For regional, look at POPRA for out West GLSCS for the upper midwest and OPA for the Northeast. These are regional series. If you have any more questions, PM me and I will help you all I can

Same here...If I can help to point you in the right direction, feel free to contact me as well. By the way, is your boat a single or twin?

Being from Missouri, you may want to start off with the great Lakes. It appears they are closest. What size cat are you running?

Thanks scott and bruce, I will run in the glscs for the first few years I live in MI about 30 miles south of port huron. The boat is stock pleasure boat , no heavy options 496 mag, sounds like I wouldnt have much work to do to get started. Thanks for your comments
