Last May I purchased my first offshore boat, a 2005 Fountain 29 Fever with a single HP500EFI w/ XR drive. I wish the boat had the HP525. Now that the warranty will soon be expiring, its time to make some modifications to the 500EFI. Without adding a supercharger (reliability is very important) what would you recommend. Note, I use the boat at Lake Tahoe 90% of the time, the rest is spent at the Sacramento Delta.
I have looked at Arizona Speed and Marine "Super Tuner Kit", has anyone had good performance enhancements with the tuner kit?
What about recommendations on a different prop?

When I took delivery of the boat at Lake Tahoe, the recall on the speedo showed 76 mph (factory test run). I have had the boat up to 61 at Tahoe and only 73 at the Sacramento Delta.
I don't know what gearbox I have.

I asked about the gearcase because I believe you might be getting close to the speed range where some hydrodynamic improvements my help you gain a few mph. But, there are a lot of variables that determine whether or not a nose cone will change much of anything.
It was just a thought, and I am by no means an expert.
How much speed were you looking to gain?

Go ahead and install a Procharger, I put a Stage II sc running 5-6 lbs boost on my 27 three years ago and have had no problems! Went from 71 to 86 on GPS with help from Julie & Matt of Throttle Up Propellors!

What is the make and pitch of your prop?

I think the prop is a Merc Bravo 1 26 pitch (Lake Tahoe) and a 28 pitch for sea level.
