280s Trim pump leaking
#1
My port 280s K-plane trim pump is leaking. It takes in water into the tank, thru the K-plane somewhere, BUT none of the lines are leaking at the ram, from what I can see. Guys, help me troubleshoot this. How can I tell if it's a line, a fitting, or the ram itself. I checked the fittings/lines/ram for any sign of leakage, but found nothing.

Friend just went thru same scenario--it turned out to be condesation that had accumulated in the resevior due to low oil level.
We purged pump and lines, used a turkey baster to suck out anything remaing and then flushed the system several times--Problem solved.

Have sucked all the oil out of that tank 2 x's and it comes right back when I stick her in the water and trim the tab.
Do you live in Melbourne? What 's your Formula look like? We boated both days last weekend, mainly, in the Banana River + it was incredible! .

I had the boat in the water at Intracoastal Marina across from Jim Rathman Chev just for some theraputic cleaning. Weather was great and river was so tempting. I tore a ligament in my knee and can barely hobble so I decided to just putz around.
Weather is gonna go down a little to mid 60's next weekend so I guess will have to just deal with the cold and get over it.
Right a couple of us are talking about wandering down to Hiram's if weather is at all good.
Picture of boat attached--usd to be at Telemar,

Poorshe,
I think I've seen your boat out on the river. We'll try to hook up this year to do some boating. Where do you normally keep your boat?
Guys anymore suggestions on the leak?
Thx,

Mr. V,
In talking to John Cosker @ Callan Marine, he thinks it might be the "Water Wiper seal" in the RAM. I'm going to look into ASAP. I'll let you know what I find out.
