Will anything bad happen to a stepped hull if it is stored on a straight bunk?

Yes it will damage the edges of the step.Over a period of time the hull will get a slight hook in it.With no motors or drives in it, it should be fine.

this is why you should have gotten an ocean pounding resin bucket..... you could probably just leave them on the ground without hurting it.

My single stepped 05 Sunsation 288 came with an non stpped ACE trailer, the boat was sitting on the sharp edge of a perpindicular bunk,, I was pissed to say the least, the least they could have done was to put the bunks on a table saw and cut 24 degree angles on the bunks, but NO, they decided to cut the carpet down the middle and use a circular saw to HACK up my bunks half way through from both sides, on some ridiculous angles where the boat was barely touching any of the bunk, then re-stapled the carpet on the running surface with the saw dust still in between . I decided to take the bunks off and try to angle the brackets or put them on a table saw and cut the notch and angle,, the 3x10 was split right through the middle,, ended up lag and carriage bolting 2 2x12x10's together, cutting the 3/4 inch step and 24 degree angles on them,, re-covered them in carpet and they work awesome.. I tell you, I can't believe the HACK job some dealers out there do...

I know that it doesn't have stepped bunks, but if it is off the bunks and in the water at least once a month........is that okay? What is a "period of time"????

Steve.......what Myco lift? Don't you have to have a house/dock to take that? If it keeps raining here, maybe I should start thinking about that.

I cant see how it could change the bottom shape ..the step is just a void above the bunk.. Where would the undue stress be applied ??

Not sure what brand boat Nort is asking about, but my Fountain's step is more than just a void. A straight edge across the step shows the hull behind the step to be 1 1/2" higher than in front of it.
Now the secret is out of what make FOUNTAINS the fastest, safest handeling boats.
