I was flipping through the latest issue of Hot Boat magazine yesterday, and I noticed the article about the Nor-Tech cat. I believe it was a 36, and it was owned by a woman. Can't remeber the name of the owner or boat off hand.

Anyways, the article claimed that it was the fastest Nor-Tech ever built. I was shocked because I was under the impression that Jim Leonardo's Xtreme Xhibit held the title for fastest Nor-Tech.

Does Hot Boat know something that I don't know? Have I missed the latest news? I don't remeber the exact numbers they listed for the top end on the boat they featured, but I do know it was nowhere near the 185 top end that I've heard about Xtreme Xhibit.

Hot Boat or Extreme boats did an article on "Cyclone" that was owned by Playboys Cyber girl of the year. Is that the one you are talking about?

The fastest 36 to my knowledge is this one rigged at Marine Performance in Port Orange Florida.It goes 170 MPH with Eickert 1200s.

It was rigged by John Pompi at Marine Performance and dialed in.

Xtreme Xhibit is a 50', I believe. I thought I read that it runs in the 170 mph range.

there areabout 4 36's that run in the low 160's-165. have not seen a 170 36 yet, however there are a couple of full canopies that will run over 180, they will have 1400-1600hp. xtreme has ran over 190mph, It is the fastest nortech cat to date. when comparing speeds, you have to be careful in what conditions it was ran in. There are at least 3 nortech 36's with nearly 1200hp nortechs they all run around 160-165.Warbird isa a cat not v. regardless over 160 is plenty fast enough anyway

The boat I mentioned is a 50 foot V-bottom, not a cat....Floating condo!
It was owned by a guy from ft.Lauderdale.

Before James Mullen had the 50ft Cat built, which incidently was/is Warbird II , he owned just about the sickest 50ft V that I have ever seen...V bottom, not a cat.
It did 130mph.....
