THEIRS A RESTAURANT WITH A WATER FRONT TEKI BAR THAT MOST BOATERS STOP AT. ITS RIGHT ALONG SIDE THE BRIDGE THE GOES OVER TO CASEY KEY,WHICH IS VERY WEALTHY!!!!BIG MONEY.tHEY WANT IT GONE - ITS NOT FAIR.

Crown Man, I already responded to your first thread this afternoon and sent my email.

This is a very cool place. It's just a ways north of the Venice Jetties, has a great little tiki bar where you can relax and watch the boats go by on the Intracoastal. The OPBA uses this sport frequently as a card stop on it's Poker Runs.

Unfortunately, Sarasota (both city and county) have "sold off" most of it's history in the name of the all mighty dollar. Every year fewer and fewer places particularly near the water go under to be replaced by high buck condos. Then of course they complain about everything, particularly if it was there first.

This is just a great spot, just west of the old "swing" bridge and it would be a horrific loss for the "normal" people.

Yeah, it's a favorite of mine too. OPBA has used that place a bunch of times for a card stop. Always great food and great hospitality.

It would suck if it closes down.

This is the one aspect of Sarasota I can't stand, how they are hellbent on becoming the "Palm Beach" of the West Coast. Thirty years ago a blue collar worker could afford to live in 85% of anywhere in Sarasota. Those days are LONG gone now. They should put on the City/County limits signs: " If you don't have seven figures, don't stop". Now "affordable" housing is in a complete crisis. There's no place for working people to live anymore. We are all being shuffled south and east.

We can thank the never-ending flood of yankee retirees.
