Never heard of him.

I believe the person you are refering to is Dave Pletcher. He does a lot of roundy-round engine work, but has also done several engines for some of my drag-race buddies. Everyone I know that uses him, speaks highly of him, and the motors I know of that he has built have been very dependable.

Another person in that area who is excellent is Kris Nelson from Nelson Competition Engines. Fair pricing, excellent work, and on time. (rare for a machine shop/engine builder to do all 3) His number is (727)321-5756

Pletcher & Nelson specialise in cars. As for boats ..who knows? Great rep locally.
Ratman where are you located?

Both Pletcher and Nelson are capable of doing good work as mentioned. If your just looking for a rebuild go for it,but if your looking to do a seriuosly big or blown motor I would look for someone who specializes in marine engines.
My buddy, who has raced in the tampa area for over 25 years, goes down to Ft.Lauderdale or some place north of us for work on his blown big blocks for a reason.I'll find out where if your interested.

im in tampa fl., i am considering taking my motors up to mark at mer he did a great job on to olds stuff but he's a little over 9 hours from me. it wouold be great to find someone locally though. thx for any info . ratman
