Exhaust thru an extension box
#1
I am looking at a new 382 formula and it has stelling boxes and corsa captians call that runs thru the extension bax. I have never heard of this I thought that with box's you had to run mufflers??? Anybody ever heard of this b/4.

I have a 2003 382 with Corsa Captains call with Corsa extensions that go Thu the Stellings boxes. It was installed at the Formula factory and works fine. The motors are Merc 525's.

It runs well. The Corsa tips cost about 3 mph off the top speed, so they are gone. With 4 people and 100 gallons it runs 79 to 81 at sea level in the Fla Keys. The best I have seen is 84.6 in fresh water at 800 ft. Haven't done any light testing in the salt water but I would guess 85 + is possible. You will need 5 blade props to allow low speed capability, (staying on plane). The corsa opens up at 2800 - 3000 rpm no matter what, and this can be annoying.

I have an Stellings extension box. The space in there is very tight. BUT! If a extension was fabricated I could see the exhaust being put through there. Sure would be tight though.

A friend of mine has exhaust going
through stellings boxes.
It has a piece of exhaust hose, connected
to a couple of adapters( to connect to the
y pipe, and transom assy) on each end.
And yes, it's a tight fit.
