Does anyone know where I can get a 382 storage cover? (Other than a new one from Formula)

$200.00 sounds great! When can I pick it up? I got a lead on a new one from Formula for about $1,200.00. Looking to get a deal on one that someone may be sitting on. I'll only use it for inside storage, so I don't want to saok a bunck of money into it. Just need it to keep the dust off!

I heard they are pretty heavy too. I wouldn't mind looking at having a nylon cover made. It would be a lot lighter and should be easier to put on and take off. I won't be using it for outside coverage, only to keep the dust off. If I find a used one at a reasonable price I'll snag it, otherwise I'll get one made. Thanks for the offer though!

I've got a blue sunbrella mooring/storage cover for my 353.

I'm convinced it weighs less than my cockpit cover!

I absolutely hate that vinyl backed cockpit cover. Heavy cumbersome beast. Not to mention it needs the vents 'cause it won't breath like sunbrella. Won't be long I'll have one made in sunbrella for ease of handling/deployment.

I've gotten away from putting the cockpit cover on at night in the boathouse when I'm staying aboard. I just cover all the seating/sunpad/dash with huge towels and shake 'em off in the morning. I'm considering not using it at all in the boathouse, just putting the full cover on when I'm not there. It has 2 support pole snaps in it just like the cockpit cover and fits like a glove. Then when I go back in a couple days, the entire topsides will still be clean.

Where did you get the mooring cover? Formula's cover is not only heavy but they want 1200 $$. I would only need the mooring cover for inside storage. Otherwise I use the Bimini. I thought the Bimini went on rather easily. I never cover it when I stay overnight on the boat, but do cover the dash area and controls.

don't know where it came from. No doubt custom made. One of my requests in closing my deal was a full cover. First it was a no go...don't have one. Then I got a call back the next day and was told there was one there from a 353 trade, would it do? I said yes, if it is in nice shape. I was assured it was.

It was like new, just under rubrail drawrope, tie down loops every 3-4 feet sewn into the hemline, 14" deep nose pocket, large reinforced velcro flaps at the cleats, the support pole snaps in the right places, a cloth reinforcement that sits on the w/s frame, ...a really well made HD piece.

Is it made of thr Subrella material? Sounds like they did a nice job on it. You don't trail with it, do you?

There are different grades of Sunbrella, I believe. This is a sturdy material whatever grade it is. I don't trailer with it, though I feel I could because of the quality and fit. It's main purpose thus far has been to cover the boat in storage. I leave the cockpit cover off for winter storage, and just use the full cover. I have a nice dry 40' x 60' with a concrete floor. It never gets damp in there, but with the crazy temp swings we get here, I want the boat interior to breath. I still say after having had folded and moved the full cover a number of times, it wieghs little more than my vinyl backed cockpit cover. Did I mention that I don't like my cockpit cover?

I'm going to give the full cover a shot for boathouse duty and only carry the cockpit cover in the boat for unexpected rain or overnights out.

If I don't find one I'll check that out. I never usually carry my cocpit cover with me when I overnight because it takes up so much room that I can't spare. Maybe I should for those rain days too. We get plenty of them as well as alot of morning dew. Never reallly thought it would hurt anything.
