Default Head gaskets--Fel-Pro or Cometic

Please only answer this poll /question if you have had personal experience with the listed gaskets. I have a Gen 6 502 with a Whipple charger. Running up to 8 lbs boost. I am using ARP studs for aluminum heads.

Thanks

I prefer the Cometic, especially on a blower motor. The part #for these gaskets is C5333.

Fel-pro is now offering the same gasket that Cometic uses,
Strip is using them on his motor project if you want a picture of them.

You need to be carful with head gaskets. On the Gev 4 stuff the holes GPM is talking about is open to allow more flow. Its been a while since I've seen a a Gen 4 block but I seem to remeber they do not have that second lower casting hole on the front of the block. I never thought of what GPM is saying but it makes great sense on a blower motor. What you absolutly do not want to do on a Gen 5, 6 block is open the front water passage. That block has a big casting hole, if not blocked by the gasket, will allow water to short circut the head. Water will enter the front of the block go throught the head and right out the intake not causing any water to go through the back of the head. To open the rear hole, you must have a right & left gasket.

If Comectic makes a gasket that does this, it would be great for blower motors. GPM, can you find a part number or is it custom? I now someone doing a blower with Cometic now.

Cometic is the way to go, the only Fel-pro gasket I use on blower application is 1012 which a receiver groove has to be made on the head to mount this gasket for extra support.
