Rouph numbers I've seen, for parts only, rounded to nearest 500:
Single ram, add on system = $1,500
(still uses cable inside boat)
Dual ram, add on system = $2,500
(still uses cable inside boat)
Full hydraulic, safest way to go fast = $3,000 to $4,000.
(no more cable)
Not worth the money unless your running 75-80 and up, alot, especially in rouph water. Just my .02

A few pros cons
Cons (besides cost):
On add on system = Your still using the steering cable between the wheel and the drive, which can break. Or it can just wear and create "play" in the system.
on full hydraulic system = The steering never returns to the same "center" position, so wheel will always be crooked if you don't get a symetrical steering wheel.
Pro's:
At least if cable breaks on add on system, the steering will be locked, and cannot be forced into a turn by the torque of the prop etc.............
Guess I'm up to .04 cents now.............

Really, has any one had a cable break? I am the master abuser of toys and I have never broke a cable. The only reason a cable would break is because of improper maintenance, like no grease, and corrosion. I agree, a full system has no play, but the cable system works just as well, I can get use to the little play that a cable has over $2000 more for a full system. Excessive play in a cable steering is a sigh of a worn cable and sleeve anyway and should be replaced. If any one has had a cable break I guarantee that it's because of corrosion. Just thought I would add my two cents.

Next they'll be saying you have to use a GPS because your regular speedo isn't accurate. Just my prediction.
