WHERE TO BUY YOUR GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW.

Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It
might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We
should return the favor. An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS.
Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into
the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't
import their oil from the Saudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the
feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to
people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought
it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best
to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil :

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and
each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are
importing.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas
buyers.

It's really simple to do.

Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how
simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people.

If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those
300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) .. and so on, by the
time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have
reached over THREE MILLION consumers!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each,
then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it ..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION

PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people.

How long would all that take?

If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day,
all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next
eight days!

I'll admit that I used to buy from whatever was easiest - typically Mobil / Exxon, but since the prices have gone up and they have posted RECORD profits for the last several quarters, I have been going to Sunoco or Citgo - I sleep better at night now!!

So these guys all aren't importing Saudi oil...yet they continue to charge the same amount at the pumps, huh? Looks like they're soaking us too, then! Unless, of course, most of the gas you buy at the pump was all provided by the same refineries regardless of the label on the pump, which in turn buy the crude oil from brokerages, who don't distinguish place of origin.

I think bajabob hit it right on. I think these companys just get their crude from an american based brokerage house and therfore can report it as being non middle eastern but in reality who knows where it came from since the broker doesnt have to disclose this. There just isn't enough oil in the U.S. to support all of these stations. BP is spending alot of money to find oil in the gulf of mexico and is legitimantly trying to reduce american dpendence on middle eastern oil and I support their cuase. Unforntunantly it is not going to happen overnight but atleast someone is making an effort. Like Sean H I drive diesel wich is becoming more and more scarce at stations these days for same reason, Although I cant figure out why. Most of the time I wind up having to buy it when I can find it.

Oil is a global commodity. If we don't buy from Saudi Arabia, they'll just sell it to someone else. Unfortuately we're also having trouble with another supplier, Venezuala, that ships to the gulf coast. Russia is having trouble pumping oil because their president is in the prosess of re- nationalizing there oil production. Nigeria is having a perpetual cival war. There is plenty of oil in the world but most of it is located in unreliable backward countries.

I wouldn't call the north slope of Alaska an urelieable backward country... But certain people don't want us to disturb the caribou in the Arctic wildlife preserve... which.... contains as much oil as all of Iraq....I wonder if the oil companies are financing the environmentalists to keep that oil there so that we have to buy overpriced middle eastern crude?........ Conspiracy theories abound!......
