I have a 1994 32' skater with merc 800SC's and 6's. I ran the Sarasota April poker run in 2004 and it was very rough. I was the third boat to arrive at the first card stop. The 51' boats and below had nothing on me. I also had 5 people including my better half so I had to stay conservative. My boat will run about 125-130mph @5200rpm. I cruise at 100mph @4000rpm. I may be interested in selling, give me a call or e-mail Paul 443-506-7577 [email protected]

I have a 2002 32 Skater classic outboard. I run it from CT to Green port NY twice a week in any sea condition. It handles very rough water. Four weeks ago seas 6'-7', wind 24 knots I did have to slow down to 25 MPH. The boat is very well balanced and I always felt safe. There is not one stress crack after 380 hours. I have not been in a 36 but I'm told it would be a boring 100 MPH cruise in 3 to 4 foot seas.

I can barely keep my 28 on plane below 30, surprised to hear your 32 stays on plane at 25. Are you running twins or triples on your 32?

I have a 36' Skater and I don't know about it being a "boring ride" in 3-4' seas @100mph. I think it all depends on who's judging and their idea of 3-4 which most people think 1-2 is really 3-4. I rode on a 32' and it was a great ride just less boat.

Could you fly your 36' in these conditions at 72 MPH?
On this day a 36 ran next to us and did not leave the water at 92 MPH.
I'm very interested in getting a bigger Skater, but I don't want to have to run at 118 MPH to feel like I'm going fast.

The 32 is definatly a safe boat , if you have the balls it will run fast in rough water as well !!!! We have a 32 Skater that will run 170 with our 1300 Raptor engs. , this boat is for sale . I dont think a 32 will run 150 with 850 hp engs.
