Shoot man, I haven't even been to see my boat since the Havasu poker run :( I had some deals working on it and they fell through, I've been too busy here and trying to keep the hours off of the boat too. I'm thinking about heading out to the Shootout at the end of August though :woohoo: I'm having Skater withdrawls

Thanks, It was painted by TOAD in 2001 after 9-11. Its been through several years of Poker Runs and its ready to take more abuse. The paint is all pearl and its a little tricky to touch up.

Thanks for the correction, To many poker runs to keep my facts straight. I know JT spent a lot of time in the boat. I think he had a undefeated race season in the boat or something like that. I raced the boat when it was Big Thunder and then we started racing the Nuff Respect 4 engine 46 Skater as Big Thunder. That's when FREEDOM US1 was born. We modified the 1994 46 two engine Skater into a Great poker run boat. This boat has had a interesting past history to say the least.

Jt stepped into the boat the next year, they were undefeated that year, dry sump drives, multi speed trannies and sterling motors.

Another rumor, leith made innovation sign a contract they would make 1,000 hp if they didnt he didnt have to pay, they lost the lawsuit rumor says. Those motors innovation built were unreal, tallest intake manifold I ever saw, about 3 or 4 ft.

Nuff respect was an unbelivable boat, once in key west, they put the props on backwards, they came into the pits and changed them, then went out about 1 lap down and still won the race. That boat was a beast.

I heard about the prop story. One of my best races was in Argentina running against Matt Alcone and Jerry Galbraith. No body broke and it was 4 to 6s. The big four engine beast simply out accelerates any other supper boat out there. Long as you didn't break something your chances to win where good. It would run 108 mph on three engines.

I was in argentina, were you in the 4 engine boat ? Those waves were bigger than 4 to 6's.

Yes, My name is Jim Lee, I was the driver. We won the race. I think there were some 6s with a few 8s but I didn't want to make it sound to dramatic. It was a great race and we had a great time in Argentina. It was on ESPN 2.

You didnt happen to tape it did you ? That was the roughest race I was ever in, and I raced the full circuit for 10+ yrs.

We were in a 40 skater, and I could see fish as they passed over my canopy, we didnt tape off our scoops, and the motors kept wanting to die.

I used to have the ESPN tape. I'll try to find it. Unfortunately Freeze Frame didn't put the on board cameras on board since it was in Argentina.

I think Rob Bass at the lake still has the tape. We watched it about a billion times. You were WAY out front needing to beat a certain time to catch Alcone in the points title I remember. You damn near did it!

I think that might of been one of the Key West races. They used to be a two race events and if you had one first place finish and one second place finish the shortest total time between first and second won the world title. Unfortunately we messed it by about 30 second or so that year. I think we still have the fastest Key West super boat average lap speed in SBI racing of 108mph. That's the race we pushed it to make up time for a first place win on the Sunday race in 1998. Nice memories. :D :drink:

We decided to remove the bow rail from the area between the sponsons. The painter did an excellent job of making the graphics have a finished and flowing look.

The same is being done on the transom. Will have pics later.

They also livened up the otherwise dull flame arrestors.
