to this, I'm rerigging the boat with twin 300xs's, electric power steering with dual helms, new interior with 2-tone purple (some carbon material) with yellow and silver accents, new garmin dash mounted gps, stereo with am/fm/cd,dvd,mp3, sd card slot and i-pod interface, 4-10's and two 6's with 7" monitors in the headrests along with fore and aft cameras. I'm making a cutom carbon fiber dash cleared with a purple candy tint to mount the new guages etc. I'm also using new latham rams..the list goes on.
if anyone needs parts I have a bunch of like new stuff |
funny I wanted to purchase to do the same or even maybe tripples (I meant 300's)...... Thats the way to go reliable and nice....remember its not how fast, is how long you can go fast, I learned that the hard way.......enjoy thats a nice boat and should run decent...

Very Nice:cool:

Keep the pics and info coming. I have thought of going from 3 to 2. If not to personal could you add costs, like how much to fill the transom etc.
Why didnt you just keep the 2 of the 280's ? They can be a little bit of a bear (mixing oil and gas) but they will smoke any of the newer engines with a little bit of work. |
I'll definately keep the pics coming. I'll have about 8k in labor to re-rig it which includes filling the transom and any holes from previously mounted hardware. The reason I went with the 300xs was, for me an easy decision. fuel economy, torque, warranty
|
Paul,
Looking good..hopefully one day i can make it out that way to see it in person.funny you should say fuel economy because you should try the $9 per gallon down here in sunny Bermuda..lol Good luck with your project... Quincy |
You should be able to just about swap all 4 280's for 2 300xs. Did that work out that way ?
|
Hey quincy
You need to get the family over here and spend a weekend with us. Yahoo it worked out a bit better selling the 280's more than covered the cost of the 300's |
Paul,
nice to here from you, we finally had the new addition to the family this past weekend, so i guess now i will have the wifes consent to boating again..ye hah..hehe but everything is great down here, and the boat is still turning headz and running sweet, but i will definately take you up on that offer.. q |
Q..congrats on the new baby, that is awesome.. I just bought a new house on the water so when you make it over here we are ready to go
|
Paul,
sounds good..how long do u think it will take to get back on the water... |

How did the motors last in the tunnel...or is this a reason for going to 2 ?
|
believe it or not I nor the original owner ever had a problem with the center motors. There were two " shoes" in the tunnel that seemes to help alot
|
I'm thinking about swapping my 3 280's for 3 300's. What did you have too change? (Besides the change from 4 to 2)
